There are several business analysis tools that can be used while gathering requirements, taking over an existing project or extending a current product.
The three tools I used are
MS Access & &
Alpha Five
Both lend themselves to rapid development of complex systems and is easy to implement and maintain.
Both are excellent prototyping tools that can be used to establish the funtionality of a development development and GUI developments before upsizing it to interface with existing corporate databases such as Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL.
Alpha Five can carry the design to the web.
Axure
Axure RP enables application designers to create wireframes, flow diagrams, prototypes, and specifications for applications and web sites. It provides the features you need to get started quickly whether working alone or collaborating with your team.
